For decades, Playboy was the top porn magazine in the world.  During that time Playboy built a pornography empire pushing the sexual objectification of women on America. The Playboy philosophy dictated that to the “sophisticated man,” girls and women are mere play things to be used, abused and discarded. That philosophy has inflicted unimaginable harm on America.  The harms include addiction of children and adults to pornography, violence against women, sexual trafficking, increased child pornography and so much more.

Now, in partnership with NBC TV - using the PUBLIC airwaves – Playboy is poised inflict even more harm on society, this time bringing the “Playboy Club” weekly TV show directly into America’s living rooms.

Have YOU had enough of the harm from pornography?  Will you TAKE ACTION? Help us make it unprofitable for NBC to exploit women!

NBC is a private company. But the airways it uses for broadcast are not private. They belong to you and me, the American people. NBC may have a license to broadcast but they are limited to programs in the public interest!  NBC does NOT have a right to pollute the airwaves.

American citizens have a say. Sign the pledge to fight with us to stop the Playboy Club from using the public airways this Fall.

Pornography on NBC?

NBC is now contributing to and encouraging a highly dangerous sexualized culture as they stoop further into the gutter for programming and profits. This fall, NBC plans to air its new series, “The Playboy Club.” One of the stars of the show explained that she took the role because she looked up to  Hugh Heffner for his “ progressive and racy nature to push the envelope and push society forward” and she hopes that this show does the same thing yet again.  It will certainly push the envelope…

But, is the degradation and exploitation of women pushing society forward?  Throughout its history, Playboy has certainly had an impact on society – encouraging the objectification of women and marketing their pornography with language that implies coercion and violence against women. The dominance of pornography in American society, begun by Playboy, has led to great harms, including child sexual exploitation, greater demand for sex trafficking, addiction and destroyed marriages.  NBC’s decision to air “The Playboy Club” will only encourage greater acceptance of pornography AND THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF GIRLS AND WOMEN.

As the show begins, one hears Hugh Heffner’s voice explaining:

…I built a place in the toddlin’ town where everything was perfect, where life was magic, where the rules were broken and fantasies became realities for everyone who walked in the doors. It wasn’t the 50s anymore…and that was my kingdom. It was the place where dreams came true.”

Now, 60 years later we can see that millions of lives have been damaged as a result of this romanticized lie that pornography is harmless entertainment and simply “dreams coming true.”  We don’t need NBC to pour more fuel to that fire!

From The Playmates

Ex-Playmates speak out against the Mansion and Hef’s treatment of his girlfriends:

Jill Ann Spaulding wrote a book,  Upstairs.

In her book, Spaulding explains how the girls in the mansion are typically desperate for the 1,000 dollars per week that they earn at the end of each week. She said she wasn’t in it for the money at first; it was more about receiving the honor of a “pin-up” and taking pride as one of the most beautiful girls in the world. Just because the girls enter Playboy at their own risk, does not make the institution or the treatment taking place there acceptable. On one of the nights, she was invited for one of the “sex parties,” ten of the twelve girls there had unprotected sex with Hefner.

Proceeds from Spaulding’s book have been donated to PREHAD, a service that helps victims of domestic violence, as well as the homeless.

Izabella St James also wrote a book, Bunny Tales: Behind Closed Doors at the Playboy Mansion

The portrait of Hefner painted by Izabella St James isn’t anymore appealing. He invited her to be his girlfriend after meeting in a Hollywood nightclub back in 2002 when she was 26. Hefner typically has anywhere between three and 15 girlfriends at a time. One girlfriend will be chosen as the No. 1 and will share the bedroom with him every night, while the others only visit twice a week. She states:

“If any of us visited Hef’s bedroom – we’d almost always end up standing in dog mess. Everything in the Mansion felt old and stale, and Archie the house dog would regularly relieve himself on the hallway curtains, adding a powerful whiff of urine to the general scent of decay.”

“He must know deep down that it is just a show. But he is trying to live out this fantasy he has been selling to people since 1954.”
